Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel is an iron and steel manufacturer located in the Taiyuan City Shanxi Province, China. This is a compilation of two projects involving the capture and utilization of waste heat and gas into electricity.

The first project involves capturing waste gases from the iron and steel making process and utilising it to produce power to run 41.25MW steam generators. The onsite generators produce 100 GWh of electricity per annum and deliver greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions, equal to 103,025 tCO2e per annum, displacing power that would otherwise be taken from the local power grid.

The second project involves recovering waste heat from the iron and steel making process and utilising it to produce power in a 32 MW power plant. The power plant will generate 189 GWh of electricity per annum, and deliver greenhouse gas emission reductions equal to 194,717 tCO2e per annum.
