Tanzania CDM Capacity

Camco Clean Energy was contracted by the Austrian Ministry of Environment to help build the capacity of Tanzania to develop Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects.

Among the outputs of this assignment was a calculation of the current grid emission factor (GEF) for Tanzania followed by a training of relevant Tanzanians on how to calculate this factor under different circumstances.

Further, the training included a tool for calculating the emission factor together with instructions on how to use that tool. Deliverables from this activity included the Operating Margin (OM) calculating program and users’ manual; GEF (using OM and Building Margin - BM) and the instructions handbook on how to calculate GEF on an annual basis.
